Day 60/366



Today is February 29 also known as "LEAP DAY". So I'm going to post two photos because this is our extra day. We had a lot of rain last night and the river was quiet high in the top photo you can see a large chunk of ice. It is about 8-12 inches thick. The second photo is a house across the river.

Day 55/366

Well it wasn't a very nice day out but I went back to one of my old standby places to take photos. I was at the King Mill Dam again and there plenty of ducks and geese to take pictures of. Then as I was heading back to my car groups of geese kept flying over head. Here are three of them as the flew right over me. I had almost turned off my camera as I was cold and going to call it a day. Good thing they like to honk.

Today I went to Maple Lawn Cemetery. I was looking for old Tomb stones and there are plenty to be seen. I like this one for it age and uniqueness. With the moss growing on it and the vines carved on the cross it was just beautiful.

This photo was taking at the Shattuck-St. Mary's New Rink. It is one of the Bantam Tier 1 goalies. They were playing a team from Buffalo,NY. As any goalie will tell you it is always a great save or just a lucky shot.

A sunny day finally so I went over to Slevin Park. There was plenty of ducks and about 5 or 6 geese. These two had just taken off . It's harder then I thought to capture birds in flight.These geese were about 50 yards away in about 3 seconds from takeoff.

Well we are already half way thru February. It was another warm day for Minnesota 45 degrees. But once again it was a grey day. So I drove over to the viaduct and parked below it and walked up it. I took some photos of the river and the railroad tracks. As I was heading back to my car snapped this picture. I really like the lights in the back ground. I also like the bottom of the pole.

Day 36/366

Well HERE IS THE BEEF!!! This is going to become barbecue beef for the Super Bowl (GO GIANTS). This is 5.5 lbs. of chuck roast that I will be seasoning and putting into the crock pot about 4 hours. Then I will shred it and put it back into the pot with barbecue sauce for 30-40 min.(getting hungry already). This was taken at 11:15 am in my kitchen. I used my Sony a380 with the flash turned on. Enjoy the game.

DAY 33/366

More ice today but no ducks. This is a photo of the only ice house on Cannon Lake taken from Shager Park. The dark spots are were the ice is really thin and melting. In some areas the ice has totally melted and started to crack. Not your usual February weather, but that's okay with me (not an ice fisherman). By where I was standing there was open water.
